Howling through the mad dog NW at the moment, and even what it looks like a weak cell crossing inland parts of canterbury, getting quite close to here to.
Had a little bit of spill over shower activity but nothing major.

cheers

Yeah should be a very active night for the west coast, there is a low risk out overnight for here so maybe there might be a few flashes in these showers.
First spillover shower nearing here now but peeling abut with that gale NWer, some decent gusts too at times.

Decent shower here too with some steady falls at times, just easing off now as the sun comes back out.
Some quite heavy falls offshore as that band moves SE, this will possibly be the case overnight with occasional showers i guess thats where the low risk comes from overnight.

Some development just off the coast south of the city at the moment. Got a feeling its going to probably miss here and scrap BP. Lets see what the cell popping up there does. Waiting Game!

A storm has popped up just off the coast coming into near Birdlings Flat, looks like a small trough coming in and another one sitting further back over south canterbury.

Reports of thunder from Yaldhurst but nothing here but ominous cloud in that direction.
Wind, finally gone around to the south here and much cooler with subsequent lower cloud moving across.

Just got back from Halswell domain. Had our first game of crickets season. Called off after 2.2 overs due to thunder and pea sized hail :)

interesting little bit of weather here today so far, quickly got the mower out and mowed the lawns and i had just finished when that cell moved over.
With out thinking much of it, it did rain hard briefly and had some very small hail, as it passed over towards Christchurch is when i heard thunder and so i tried to take chase but it was to fast for me to get to it, so ended up south of lincoln again on days rd, got a ph call from Aaron near by, nothing els has looked to threatning thus far.

cheers :)

Interesting skies TC way but weak so not much development expected from there apart from the cloud forms.

I just went up Tram Road abit as i noticed the western end of that change line was getting abit more active on the radars, so i pulled over into a side road watched it come in.
I did see one flash must of been IC as i couldnt see the bolt, but that was looking west and at the same time i had tiny hail falling.
Apart from that not too much to write home about really, might be a storm by the time it hits Kaikoura while sea fest is going.

I guess last chances are now if a NE sneaks in which is quite likly now that the southerly has died off completly here, that something might flare up with the upper S-SW flow still going until later tonight.
