Looks like the front is coming through now.
There has been a lot of Altocumulus castellanus here in the last hour or two, some of it quite tall with weak precip but no cumulus.

we got to 20C briefly.....a little pocket of warm air....we have missed alot of the rain..I see a better band of rain over the far north...i wonder if the front might move south again...

Maximum temps look seasonable this week for northern areas with 18-20C.
The low end of the week looks like a blast of wind and heavy rain but a fairly stable looking system so no thunderstorms.

nearly 40cm of snow at Arthurs Pass village reported, much more higher up. Still snowing as at 8am.
