Yes Richard, something may actually be happening out there. We had the wind change and it's now SW but is warmer with sun now and a slightly higher dewpoint. Nothing overwellming but bubbly clouds to the south so fingers crossed.

It blew very hard here from the NW around 3:30am, with the house shuddering at times. It wokeme up. I thought it may of been a SW change but on getting up and observing, it was from the NW. Clear skies.
The wind was really booming down the flue of the AGA. :-(

Heard two serpherics from that cell that passed over, coming home from chch i went through it.
No lightning seen though or thunder observed.
Heavy shower though as it went over, i deliberatly went into it coming home to see what i could get out of it despite having no camera or anything with me. cheers

Went out briefly, nothing much in the end but a few nice bases out there and heavy looking showers. Was close.

EDIT: Thats some big dam hail to fall if true!

Some quite decent bases to the clouds as i left work at 5pm but didnt observe any lightning and nothing on the radio, just a shower with sporadic drops as the wind change went over.
Surly the hail wasnt that big if there was the shower cells would be far bigger and there would be more lightning, i would say marble size could be possible but we need photos really.

Back on line after a 4 1/2 hr power outage due to this car plowing into a power pole just down the road from me.
No tyre marks at all to indicate they used the brakes before hitting it.
