That would be nice watching the makeral sky eating some macaroon biscuits with a cup of coffee :D :D

A few weak forms of cumulus about again today with another weak front flicking the peninnsula this morning, other then that an all round nice day really.

That cloud is a sign of the increasing NW flow
MetService shows Banks Peninsula on 24C with the Christchurch eastern suburbs on 13.3C, the MS city temps maps occasionally look silly.

Maybe not too far away as the NW is getting rather strong at times now

Possibly the cooling due to onshore breezes. I see Timaru and "Oh Arm a Roo" are cooler too. Warmer here at 22C with a light NE, not NW yet. :D

Must be localised to New Brighton etc as its been hovering 19-21C here for much of the day and im on the coast, no NW as yet but its got that feel of changing time between NE/NW.
Might push 25C if the NW arrives soon before that high cloud.
Finally nice to see a pattern reforming in the models slowly from next week onwards as the systems get stronger again, just in time for December where thunderstorm chances become greater :-) .

The NW finally arrived here at 1657hrs.
Probably because of the cloud cover, no temperature increase, actually it dropped by a few marks, ie from 19.8C to 19.7C. Now 19C with the NWster still blowing away there

Looks like Blenheim Aero is the first to officially to crack the 30C mark this season. Its 30.1C yesterday was also just the 8th time it has exceeded 30.0C in Nov since records began in 1941 (incl. 3 days in 1997). Its highest ever Nov temp was 32.8C in 2007 (also on the 25th).

Looks like the November frosts have meant upto 30% of Otago's wine production has been lost this growing season.

And glancing the gfs this morning more bitterly cold air could affect the south later in the week. Fingers crossed it will pass off to the east of the country.
