Frosts 2013
First frost for 2013,ice on the car and is noticeable in amoung the long grass,temp gauge says +1.5 and ground +2deg.
Could be yet another summer where there is a small amount of frost each of the months,in the 11 years living here there's only been one summer where there were no frosts (2000-2011)

Down to 1.1Cin the screen here overnight, so there could of been slight frosting on the ground at one stage

Blimey that's a decent frost, even in mid winter over here. I personally wouldn't be looking forward to a -8°C or -9°C low mid winter in your case.Richard wrote:A tomato killer this morning,-2deg airtemp and -2.5 ground temp

Re: Frosts 2013
Oh dear! -2.7 degrees air frost this morning this means the end of the tomatoes and other summer vegetables. On the downward slide into winter now, I must take a soil temp reading after lunch.
Edit: At 8:20am on sun rise air temp at 1.25m -3.3, at 5cm above ground -5.4 and soil temp at 100mm below ground over grass is +10.3.

Grass white this morning;
frozen dew on car;
a brontosaurus [or possibly a deer] roaring in the distance: Autumn!
+0.2 degrees.

A good example why this computer temp forecasting is hopeless,Alexandra was only going down to +2deg,a 5deg difference is a lot.Andy wrote:-3.2 here at the mo
Just on -3deg here this morning and -3.5deg ground temp
