Still on 59mm here for the year. I just calculated we have had 94mm in the last 4 months, and 247mm in the last 6 months. Amazingly low considering our mean annual rainfall is around 1200mm.

That very dry for Auckland.

We are not as bad as you but its still bad here too. 86mm for the year to date when we should be about 258mm for the year to date (based on this stations averages).

We got decent rain in December so 4 and a half month (including December and half of April) total is 214mm. For the last 6 and a half months its 385mm here.

I am able to get the tractor, to ram some posts, around a swamp , to fence it off, in places where I would normaly not be able to, because its so dry

Not everywhere has had rain.... Taihape and east of Taihape are still bone dry. Just a few mm have fallen over the weekend there. Good article here to read http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/farming ... iest-farms
