Blowing a rather strong NW helped keep it warm, thats on top of five straight days of NW,certainly has dried things out a lot,ive just planted some trees and i'm going to have to water them.

Very warm night here on the coast.. house temperature didn't drop below 20 (and still hasn't) .. that's with no fire or clothes dryer going. Quite toasty right now..

Yes, cant complain can we! Great stuff, we had 25 here yesterday. Went for a walk at 630pm last night and it was 20 degrees still. High cloud has developed here with no wind and pleasant @ 19 degrees. If we manage 20 that will be 5th time in 6 days that the mecury has got to 20 or above.

I see Napier is on 26!

An odd combination of cloud-systems today: a great slab of cold-looking low cloud coming up from the SW while vast clouds roiled up over the foothills to the north, all around 4:30 - 5pm.
Ashburton tended to be chilly and damp-feeling this afternoon, even though it was sunny.
11.1 degrees here at Mayfield at present.

Yes, a mixed sort of day, wind-wize and temperature, cool at times but warm when the NW sprang up around 4pm. <3

Thunderstorm rolling up from the south going by the radars and aiming for the city :-) , its currently a fresh easterly here with overcast skies so quite odd.
But i did have in the back of my mind there could be a low risk today.

We have had low cloud almost fog like here but some sun is popping through now (although very little) but you can see the clouds moving NE to SW as well, no wind to speak off and this might get closer to the city as you say Jason than first thought from the watch.

Really ramping up on the tracker now, thunder heard over Leeston so the Peninnsula doesnt seem to be steering it offshore like it normally does i wonder if it the Easterly thats drawing it in.

Passed to the east of here but recorded a peak rain rate of 83mm/h. Didn't see any lightning but heard at least half a dozen long rumbles of thunder :)
