Thanks Orion, the sea shot was taken at St Clair the waves were crashing against the already damaged sea wall so hard you could feel the whole promenade vibrating and the spray was keeping everyone amused. The sea was amazing I have never seen the ocean so churned up.

It does seem to be very isolated, like not snowing here, and you guys are further west than us

It's the first snow I've seen falling here in May since I arrived in Dec 2000.

im in the same boat as you John, just cold winds now and nothing exciting.
We will do better in SSE wind flow john, tilt it bit more inland towards us to get some decent activity. _b

Just sticking to a wet snow here with grapel intermixed nothing really settling, i think Lake Ellesmere might have an affect on the development of the showers in that area from Lincoln to Hornby Hallswell etc with proper heavy snow showers there.
By the time they get going over land pushed on by the strong S-SW they loose abit of steam.
Still this is cool to see none the less especially being only 3 days out from winter _b

About 1cm here. Nothing overly exciting. Hill suburbs could have up to 8- 10cm in parts. Thought I just heard thunder...

Nothing in Oamaru ,A 30 second flurry of snow at 1pm and that was it , Just a cold southerly wind with a wind chill between 1-3C actual temp at the time of 6.2C and a 30 knot southerly blowing. Complete non-event for us .

Warming up now 4.8C

That will be hail. I had a report of hail coating the ground in Timaru last night.
