well its been heavy rain here last 2 hours, but is slowly easing now,and the wind is dropping away
looks like the front has made it north of here now, checking on the rain radar
hopefully it stays north of here and does not slip south again during this morning!

I see Tim managed twice as much rain than me over night. 20 odd vs 11. I thought there was a bit more water on paddocks around work than home, which explains it.

Jeepers it's foggy. Can't see 10m outside with lights. Must be 50m visibility type fog (during daylight)

18Z gfs has the low level jet with tomorrows front at 50kts over Auckland. So an isolated severe gust threat with the frontal change.

Does anyone know the name of the weather guy who does the forecast for Canterbury on the breeze? He just predicted 300-400mm of rain over the next 3 days for Canterbury plains!!

Yip lets hope it pick up again with the next run. what time will that be? anyone know? but yes thickness 512, lowest i have seen it. Bitterly cold too
10:45pm (ish) or about 11:15pm for the GFS metvuw maps.

Light rain all afternoon here. Weather will be much the same here as at the Stadium as only live 3mins away) Just the 3mm though so far but will be slippery under foot for the game. Looks like the light rain may clear by the start of the game though going by radar.

Steady, drenching rain here in Glenfield for most of the morning, still going strong, and a blustery breeze which is causing the neighbour's UHF aerial to wobble rather alarmingly. Hope it's screwed to the roof securely. Weather station says 14.3 with 83% humidity. Feels very balmy. I've had no heating on in the house since Friday night, just a couple of dehumidifiers to get the laundry dry.

checked the NIWA data and we've had 25.2 hours of sunshine so far this month....a whopping 1 hour 41 minutes a day.

We have 34.5 in 14 days, but not much yesterday and none today for sure. Could be a very cloudy month indeed unless the last 7-9 days deliver clearing SW-W conditions.

Auckland Airport has not had a minimum temperature below 10C for over a week, certainly mild for the month of June, I think the average June min there would be about 8C

Whangaporoa has not had a single digit temperature this June yet

A big contrast to the chat on the other thread :>

Yearly rain just reached 500mm here, nice to see the total getting close to average after such an extreme drought

Bit disappointed to see mods move this comment from the thread on its own that I set up earlier. I thought it was a really nice story about one of our own members and was worthy of its own thread...this place is just getting a bit silly lately with overzealousness.

Well done Josh, that will be all from me for now.
