General June Weather
Interesting developments next tuesday. Latest GFS have warm front and cold front clash over lower north island.
Mind you it could go either way as yet but definitely one to watch. Its gonna come down to just perfect timing of both weather systems. Your thoughts?

Whatever this year's outcome, bear in mind that 13 of the last 15 winters have been close to or above the 30-year mean temperature.melja wrote:NIWA says they expect a warm winter for the whole country, it will be cold then

Re: General June Weather
Well time for a cold one then
What I don't like is how the say "normal or below normal" or "normal or above normal" as its just a bob each way and hardly sticking there neck on a prediction, hard to get wrong with that kind of wording isn't it.

They still assign a probability to each of 3 categories so you can still judge the result by that.melja wrote:Well time for a cold one then

Re: General June Weather
There was quite a bit of snow left over on the desert road, some sections of the road got really icy, one car sliding off the road downhill.
Temperatures seemed to fluctuate between -0.5°C and 4°C in parts of the road around 8 AM this morning.

Re: General June Weather
Sitting on 20 degrees here now. Sun half through high cloud. Could get even warmer if the NW arch passes over.
