Drizzle here also;
moderate to fresh breeze from the southerly quarter, seems to be veering a little to more WSW;
visibility deteriorating to perhaps 800m;
5.6 degrees.

30mm here. Drizzle now is very thick and wetting. Looking at radar the biggest band of the day is perhaps developing at the top of the south and will work its way down towards here over the next few hours.

Yes, very blustery out in the Gulf atm… 91 km/h mean NE'ers at Tiritiri at 3pm and Whangaparaoa currently reporting gusts over 100 km/h. Less than 12mm from this event here so far though.

34mm also here (look at that 3 in a row!) Big band moving in now and you can see by the radar that finally the flow is turning more easterly (onshore) now so this could pump in some big rain clouds over the next few hours.

Re: Large Tasman Low June 15 to 18th
Been 18mm in town, 20 in the foothills over the past 24 hours, with MS saying 100mm in the next 24 hours.
Leith peaked two hours ago at 10 cumecs, which is pretty high for 20-25mms of quite gentle rain. Now at 8 cumecs.

Re: Large Tasman Low June 15 to 18th
After persistent and at times heavy drizzle for much of the day, the rain is much heavier here in Dunedin this last half hour. Heard of some rockfall too in the Cromwell Gorge in Central Otago

Re: Large Tasman Low June 15 to 18th
Been outside a reasonable amount of the afternoon doing an aerial job that I couldn't put off. Really dislike those jobs at this time of the year. That rain is wind blown and relentless. Yay for fresh water repellant on the shell, pity I still got darn wet.

Re: Large Tasman Low June 15 to 18th
About 1630, it absolutely pelted down in Manukau/Manurewa. High wind was associated with sheets of rain, at times dropping visibility down to almost nothing.
Also, the high winds left tell tale signs by the sheer amount of leaves on the roads.
Here are a few pic's of surface flooding
