Temp hovered just over 5 before dropping to 4.2 but now right up at 5.8. Rain stopped, still a reasonably strong southerly though.

Southerly rose here between 3am and 4am with some rain;
currently dry;
fresh to strong southerly breeze with 2.7 degrees;
scattered low to mid-level cloud scurrying overhead;
looks murkier towards the southern horizon.

Just got back from Waddington, nice thick layer on the grass and roads. Went to the good old pie shop there.

Very broken up clouds here. Can see bits of blue sky everywhere lol. How long it will stay like this, I wouldn't know.
Cheers,

Yes chain showers are lining you up Helen. How many cm on the ground there? When I went to the pie shop looked to be 3-4cm on the ground at a guess in places.

Been a pretty nice day so far in Howick, plenty of sunshine, 15C. Looks like that's about to change soon looking at the radar - quite a few showers moving up from the SW. Quite fast moving too.

As this next event is likely to be at least as significant if not more so, I figured it was better to start a new thread, as they are separate events and this one might generate a fair bit of traffic. You dont need to condemn me for trying to be a good moderator. There is no conspiracy theory here. I am more than happy to merge the two threads if you like, but as a general rule I think separate threads for separate events is the way to go. Last time we even had a pre-event speculation thread and an observations thread.

I have to be honest, we are being awfully pedantic round here lately and its driving me away from the site. One thread is fine for me.
Is it any real surprise Razor that there is OCD here on the forum, isn't that what us weather watchers are famous for??
