Baro is dropping allright, the coal in the shed sounds like a bowl of rice bubbles. Big pressure gradient incoming.

Baro here has leveled out since 4pm - risen slightly actually.
quite breezy as Dale mentioned. recorded a 37.1 km/hr gust earlier, which is actually my 2nd highest recorded since 2011.

986.6 here in Glenfield. Can hear stuff blowing around in the street. Vector have reported lines down in the street opposite mine, but the part I can see out the window still has power.

I see Jamies place is gusting up to 87km/hr (not surprsing due to the very high anomometer placement).
Up to 57km/hr here and increasing it seems.

WOW i have just got internet and checked it out. Had a call to my wife too.

Like Tim said getting up near 90km/h. Power went out just after 10pm though so no more readings for the rest of the night from me. The weather station has been blown over too she said. Wind is seperate so its only rain that i will not record. All the new trees we planted are only staked in the ground for a westerly wind. Opps!!! Wife said they nearly snapping off.

Sounds like a ripper storm. Gutted im in the clear blue skies and warm weather of NSW!

Oh no thats got to suck, what did you have the station mounted on? Was it the metal tripod?
I was considering getting one when I bought my station in 09 but then I thought it might not stand to a strong wind.
I am glad I used a concreted fence post now!

Crossing fingers and toes that nothing on your station is broken.....

Yes indeed. I don't know if anyone saw ones news tonight, but they said, obviously from MS, that the worst conditions for Auckland would be around midnight, which is when the centre of the low was predicted to cross, bringing calmer conditions! What are your thoughts on this?
