It cooled down a bit, here, after the SW went through @ 7:45pm. Dropped 10C in about 2 hours.

Another cloudy day with 20C and a fresh southwesterly here, I sure hope that sunny 22C forecast tomorrow isn't just a tease ;P

We were supposed to have light winds today but all day there has been a 15-30km/h wind.

Has been mostly clear today unlike Auckland. Cloudy to start with tho.

Turned out mostly sunny here yesterday arvo and the warmest day this side of winter so far with 23.5C.

I see Ardmore Aero also topped MS's top town/city list with 23.1C, while 2 of its other 3 Akld sites (all with just 22C) also made the list. 8)

Nice to get a clear day.

Looks like a reasonable upper trough over the South Island on Saturday.

Looks like a few thunderstorms possible over east Otago on Saturday with surface moisture convergence and an upper trough moving across.

Still 5 days away but GFS has been consistently showing good potential for afternoon thunderstorms in Waikato/BOP on Tuesday 19th, with CAPE over 1000. Chart shows GFS CAPE forecast at 4pm Tuesday 19th.

Also showing similar instability in the Bay of Plenty Monday afternoon.

Agree NZstorm. Am hoping it'll stay down there and not tempt me too much, other things to do. But next year will be good fingers crossed!

Rainfall chart for next 7 days on gfs.

Showing plenty of precip from convection over inland North Island and just about zero for the Auckland area.

Convective precip is highly unreliable so treat this chart with caution!

If we can get sea breeze convergence over Auckland early/mid next week we should see some showers. Our weather looks a little on the humid side through next week.

A very typical summer set up early next week with those inland showers and thunderstorms over both islands, Monday look more favourable for the Marlborough, Canterbury foothills, and Central Otago areas.
But some juicy numbers coming through for the central North Island especially Tuesday.
After that we have a new system coming in pulling air down from the tropics into a Tasman low, which should make for some good activity from Thursday onwards for different parts of the country.

Had weak seabreeze convergence cloud over central parts of Auckland last 2 days, some suburbs get sunshine all day while other suburbs get stuck under cloud.
