Re: General November Weather
I see Grey Lynn earlier today recorded its highest temp of 23.2C so far this spring.
It's been more like summer than spring here lately, with a sunny 22.0C today.

Re: General November Weather
It's been getting down around 8°C here the last 3 nights, not warm enough to call it summer yetNev wrote:I see Grey Lynn earlier today recorded its highest temp of 23.2C so far this spring.

Re: General November Weather
I would summer is here now with max temps 20C+ daily.
Looks like afternoon showers over the inland ranges over the coming days with quite cold 700mb temperatures.
Thunder looks more possible from Monday with the higher atmos getting a bit colder by then and more surface moisture.

Re: General November Weather
Yes, unfortunately a lot of high cloud getting dumped on us.
From a storm chasers perspective looks like some pulse storms may develop over western Waikato/Waitomo both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some elevated storms in the North Tasman this morning may reach Northland tomorrow.

Re: General November Weather
I think we can call Spring over now, the general pattern has a Summer look to it, highs digging further south, easterlies over the top of NZ.
Auckland dewpoint is currently 16C, some moist air over NZ this week.

Chch Aero also recorded its highest spring temp so far of 27.7C yesterday. Blenheim Aero's 28.0C was still short of the 28.6C it recorded last Sunday though.Yesterday David wrote:Lovely 23.6°C max here today, the warmest day of Spring so far

Re: General November Weather
I wonder if we might end up with a tropical low/TC in december, since things seem to be earlier this year...

Re: General November Weather
Central to west and South Waikato look like good spots for convection this week.
Tomorrow I would pick a low to no risk for Waikato. However I wouldn't rule out an odd convective shower though. Looks like a Gisborne ranges event.

Yes, also 24.2C at Grey Lynn and 24.0C here. Interesting that your peak was within a minute of Ricky's and mine 20 minutes later. Sea-breezes must've kicked in after that maybe?David wrote:Up to 24.1C today even with all the cloud cover we have! Now I agree summer is definitely here

Anyone ever seen a trail do this weird shadow thing? Odd to have this trail in the first place as it runs almost due N-S. Didn't see the plane do it.
