Thunder continuous here near Tekawhata

I'm at the races in Hamilton. Looks really good out there. No chance chasing for me. Well over the legal limit. I could see early this morning things were better than what MS were saying. Looks like I have a nice moist SW sea breeze at home.

Where are these cells tracking? That line over north waikato looks good on radar. Is it heading SW or NE?

Boring, I ended up on SH36 between Tauranga & Rotorua. Saw a little lightning, a bit of pea sized hail & some heavy showers, but I should have been outside the Metservice predicted area in the Waikato. Looked like it went off NNE of Hamilton.

FWIW, I was at a meeting in Te Puke, went up Te Matai Rd to SH36.

The convergence line is almost straight down SH1 so easy chasing. Darn.... wish i hadn't had a few to many.

near constant thunder here. Seen some great CG's. Looks less impressive as time goes but that might be because its sitting above us rather than looking at it.

Had to end my chasing early as I have a Xmas function I have to attend this evening

Some photos, I followed some really great storms over North Waikato this afternoon, plenty of lightning and some hail was observed.

There was lots of CG's. Some of them 1 second to thunder! Good storm with pea hail.

Really enjoyed seeing some nice build ups today. The first from 3pm looking towards Greenhithe/Albany from Glenfield Mall, the second looking towards the Bombay cell from Bayview at 5pm.
