EDIT: thought something maybe happening down there yeah.. hmm good heating here in rolleston, no cloud cover and a light SW breeze.. wonder if something is going to fire up further north

Still a NW wind here but building to the south,there's a cloud convergence line between the NW and SW wind to my south.

Well, Christmas weather today worked out well in the end. The rain held off till mid afternoon and we reached a high of 27. 20mm of rain has fallen since the rain began, mainly light stuff now. Great for the gardens!

A pleasant xmas day here, albeit with a relatively cool max of 20.9C (in contrast to Grey Lynn's 23.1C), 6mm from the mid morn weak front, the odd bit of drizzle during the day, but also some sunshine with light to moderate westerlies. In other words, a fairly typical xmas day...
