MS site is saying that the site is under going maintenance and that it will be up and running shortly, two hours later and counting, doesn't take that long and no way would maintenance be done at this time of night ,would it? :-k

It's only saying that as it's their backup page.

This is from their facebook page

Hi all - we're dealing with an issue on our website right now so if you can't bring up the site, rest assured we are onto it! You can find watches and warnings at our backup site http://www2.metservice.com/ and we'll continue to keep Facebook updated with key information. Thanks for your patience! ^JB

I see MS have added a new tab on their Towns & Cities pages called 'Your Weather', which combines real-time data on google maps from both MS WS's and Personal WS's (e.g. Auckland). More info here.

Due to their somewhat flawed editing process now there are 2 Howicks showing up q-
Have alerted them to the one I want deleted, hopefully they don't take an age to respond!

I also ended up with 2 Templetons after I corrected the location... I just set the first one as inactive.

Hi everyone - should have known you'd beat us to the punch and have clued on to Your Weather right away :)
After our 'soft launch' yesterday we'll have a media release out on Friday.

We're really keen to encourage weather enthusiasts like yourselves to take part in Your Weather by adding your stations to WOW if you haven't already. We've also encouraged people to come to this forum for helpful advice on setting up their own weather stations: http://about.metservice.com/our-company ... -software/

Re your comments above on the Station Name being duplicated, please let me know if you're continuing to experience that problem tomorrow and we'll look into it. We're just showing what's in the WOW API so the problem may be at that end.

I look forward to seeing more of your stations pop up on Your Weather, and will keep you posted on future new developments.

Cheers!

Hi Jacqui, that problem is on the MetOffice WOW site. If you edit your location and then save changes it creates a new 'site' rather than just updating. For a brief moment both of mine showed up on the MetService map, but then the old inactive one dropped off a short time later, so it's all good now!

Ive set mine up to upload every 5 mins.

There are quite a few stations in and around Hamilton which is great. Makes me realise i need to slightly adjust my wind direction, which i had suspected for some time.

I see that there was mention of this on the TV One news just before the day's maximum temperature report.

how do you get your station to change from local weather station to a place name. I note more and more stations have a place name.

You just have to wait :)

I believe that it is a manual task at this stage to actually name the Station, so you need to wait for someone at metservice to type in your name. They are working on making it automatic but due to the time of year there is no IT changes being made.

There are other changes in the pipeline too but I'm not sure if I am allowed to share so will have to keep them to myself :)
