Down to -2C today but not much frost on the grass or condensation on the windows with the dry air - dew point was -5C.

Got down to -2.3C then clouded over here, too. Last night was the first time this winter that it's dropped below freezing before midnight.

No ,the cloud is here to stay,but could be the last frost for a week i reckon.

In alexandra my gauge outside got down to -6.9 but were in a river basin at the local camp and like you Richard thick high cloud has rolled in so i dont think we will rise above 0 if the cloud stays.

Good frost overnight. As Steven said on his posting, first time dropping below zero before midnight, where it was minus 2 at 10pm.
Anyway, down to minus 4.3C before clouding over from the NE, and then it was minus 1.3C at 7am.I did notice that the frosting got lighter as I moved towards Christchurch.

so frosts quite easy there

A good frost here this morning but it only went down to minus 1.1C, mind you it was cloudy overhead as well.

Interesting..... I'm sitting on -2.0 with fog while hamilton airport is on -3.9 and I suspect that is without fog. Hence me being warmer. Wish we didn't have the fog. Would have been good to hit -5. Something we haven't done since 2009
