Built Kits

Unread post by travisdh »

Hello,

I am from Victoria, Australia and am looking to (eventually) get a lightning detector to install and ideally increase the network. I must admit though although I am fine with running cables, putting up antennas and the likes, I have little to no confidence with SMD soldering etc, and the thought of putting together such a complicated piece of equipment daunts me!.

I am wondering if anyone is currently selling built RED kits and if so what the cost would be as (at least for me) this would be a far better option than jumping in the deep end with SMD soldering etc.

Thanks!

Travis.

Hi Travis, if you get stuck I could assemble one for you. Would cost you the international shipping though.

What would most likely be worthwhile is try contacting your local Amateur Radio club, they often have people willing and able to help with such projects.

Thanks for the offer, It is still very early days yet but it is handy to know what the options are.
What is the international cost, is that the cost I had seen of around $200 Euro?

The cheapest way would be to ship it to me or Ricky here in NZ direct from the source in Europe and then the only additional cost would be the international shipping from NZ over to you in Au.
