Re: General March Weather
The very weak thunderstorm set up later today over the North Island maybe worth a mention.
A weak easterly surge creating some convergence over the inland North island with a few showers. GFS suggests a few rumbles over the hills north of Taupo.

Re: General March Weather
Lusi has left some humidity in Christchurch today. We keep some of that tropical moisture in the NZ region for the rest of the week especially in the north, this will give our weather a warm feel this week.

Re: General March Weather
Enjoyed that fine weather here today, 17C-24C today, dewpoint 14C.
Some welcome showers in the mix by the weekend, could be isolated heavy.

Are you reporting from Raglan permanently now? If so you'll have to set up a weather station thereTornado Tim wrote:Lovely day here in Raglan....A bit of cloud to begin with but left quite quickly.
It was a lovely day here too - there was thick cloud to start the day but it burned off quickly.

Re: General March Weather
I think atleast isolated thunderstorms over northern regions this weekend. There will be an upper trough over the area.spwill wrote: Some welcome showers in the mix by the weekend, could be isolated heavy.

Re: General March Weather
Yea... in Raglan now. For the foreseeable future anyway. I work for MetOcean Solutions which is based in Raglan and New Plymouth. Meeting heaps of like minded people, and having a complete blast. Technical Meteorological and Oceanographic conversation here is very normal, which makes a very refreshing change, haha.David wrote:

I'm literally living a Weather Enthusiasts dream, might sound a bit pie in the sky, but it's true.
