It's just an advertising thing for them so they can get more money.
Nothing on their website for heavy snow , yet, for next week though? :yum:

Yes, was going to mention the pigs in MetService Website thread.
Might not send the right message for a forecaster though, i.e. 'yeah right, when pigs can fly', lol

Quite a few fairly close lightning strikes here accompanied by a heavy downpour just after 5pm.

My station is up to 191mm for June so far. Seems a little bit high compared to surrounding areas but nothing has changed with regard to the rain gauge.

Auckland Airport is on 167mm for the month.

Cold upper level conditions over the Tasman Sea coming our way. Looks like a rain around the middle of the day tomorrow with isolated thunderstorms developing in the west from Monday pm. And given the upper flow will NW tomorrow you can't rule out an isolated tornado.

Tuesday could be a day of interest for Auckland with 500mb temps -25C and surface dps 11C.

I see they had isolated severe storms in northern NSW yesterday as the front crossed.

Low sun tally of 59 hours for Cromwell to the 27th - must have been quite a few fogs. Mildness offset in Nelson's case by below average sun and above average rainfall.

Stunning over this side of the alps allright.. if you are a duck! o_O :B
Had a few heavyish showers this morning/arvo so far, just awaiting the onslaught.

Not a bad month all in all.. quite warmer than I expected it to be.
