Saw a little bit of Lightning coming back from Raglan this evening. Fairly heavy downpour round 6 when the line came through.

Metservice TS outlook has high thunder risk for Northland, Auckland, and the west coast of Waikato/Waitomo/Taranaki this afternoon and evening. Yay!

Metservice going for 8C max and -4C min for Christchurch for next Wednesday, obviously an automated forecast but their long range models must be seeing something very big coming!

Those temps are what you get when its clear and frosty,all those automated temp forecasts are not worth looking at after the first four days

Taken off the MS website today ,its is good example of why computer temp forecasting a week out is a complete waste of time.

Looks like it weakened as it heads over land. Just a garden-variety heavy shower here. Apart from the very distant thunder 10-15 mins ago, haven't heard anything since then. Darn!
