46mm here so far. Haven't had any really heavy bursts, just steady solid rain. Think the heaviest stuff is due this afternoon.

Doesn't appear to have been too bad in Northland yet either. Kerikeri showing 62mm, Whangerei 67mm.

Re: Heavy rain event 8-13 June
43.5 so far here in Glenfield. No really torrential falls, just solid rain, like David said. Had a longer than usual walk to school this morning after we got almost all the way to the pedestrian crossing by the school gate, discovered the road was underwater on the side we were walking, and had to backtrack 1/3 of the way to find a safe place to cross.

Re: Heavy rain event 8-13 June
Seems to be a little bit of BP sheltering going on. Nevertheless, still some heavy falls in Rangiora and Kaiapoi, 200mm on the cards. Christchurch will see light/moderate rain for most of the day now.Razor wrote:Since 6am only light spotty rain in town, 1mm more to make 33mm in total so farmelja wrote:Just up to 140mm here now and still very heavy.

Howick's hourly rainfalls so far (screenshot from my website).
I need another 32mm today to beat my record daily rain in the last 5 years.

Re: Heavy rain event 8-13 June
Its pretty bad in Northland - lots of reports and photos of flooding appearing on Facebook from Far North , Bay of Islands and low lying areas north of Whangarei. We have been out moving stock off the river paddocks and now watching the M S forecast to see if the further 100mm plus is still going to hit us between 6 to 8pm.
I haven't totalled the rainfall for past 48 hours but we must have already had at least 150mm and sounds as if some places to the east of us have had more.

From the rain radar, it looks like the heavier rain is going onto Northland and Coromandel and it's lighter rain in the middle

Re: Heavy rain event 8-13 June
Ok - including Sunday's fairly heavy rain, Kaikohe had had over 100mm by lunchtime yesterday.
Yesterday's total was 86.2mm.
Today, so far we have had another 51.6mm and its still raining hard.
If MS rural forecast is correct , we are expecting another 155mm before it starts to clear up later this evening.
Could be looking at over 300mm for the three days.
