Re: Election Day weather
I'm not voting at all.
Seeing it will be a cold day and with the current wrangling going on before the election, I'm not really interested, to waste petrol and going out to vote. sorry.

It'll be stormy, before and probably after the election. (and this could include the weather too)

Now that really saddens me. My grandfather died three months ago at the age of 93 and one of his messages was "do not fail EVER to vote, I don't care who for but I had mates who died so you could".NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote:I'm not voting at all.

Don't waste your vote!!
If weather is going to be such an issue then you can vote early at a location that suits you. The link has a list of places where you can do so.

Re: Election Day weather
We likely will get a rumble or two of thunder on election day. 500mb -28C for the west of the North Island.
Early voting is popular overseas and NZers seem to be catching onto the concept this election.

Southerly change seems to be coming in later than expected, now. Sunday maybe the colder?

Re: Election Day weather
Looks like overnight Saturday it comes in. It's not looking too bad, still over 15mm of moisture and THK 532. Might be a bit of a shock to the system seeing as we have had such nice weather for a wee while now

Re: Election Day weather
Not voting is in itself a kind of vote. In cases where someone doesn't like any of the choices on offer, it can be pretty much equivalent to voting informally, as a sign of rejection. I will be voting however, even though I have long disliked adversarial systems and think they are no longer appropriate for our times. The right to vote includes the right to not vote.
On the weather front, it has been quite pleasant so far this month. Next few days don't look good.

Well said RWood, maybe the couple of people above and their over the top attack on NZ Thunderstorm Soc might want to think a bit more laterally before carrying onRWood wrote:Not voting is in itself a kind of vote. Re: Election Day weather
Can we stop talking about voting, so boring. Talk about weather
Mt hutts computer generated forecast has 32cm of snow for sat/Sunday. I so hope this comes off so I can get at least one pow pow day in before the season ends and who knows, maybe they will finally hit the 1m mark cover wise

Re: Election Day weather
Yes, the weather looks more inspiring to go out and vote, now, so I hope they have a dart board or something like that, so I choose a person or party to vote for ?
Where ever it lands, that will do.
National will win anyway, so it may be interesting if there will be any changes within MetService?
