Unsure how to title this thread but got this message on stormchasers yesterday:
Hi during the lighting and thunder today my son thot someone threw smething at him when he piked them up they were two strong magnetic shrouds any idea. We are in rakaia i myself cud see the norwest cloud collide with the southerly change if that helps. Can you explain bit more as we are very curious. Thanks.
I had on idea what she was on about so requested a photo.
Had a quick google search and found they may be Lodestones.
Have ppl heard of this before or know any more about it? All news to me!

They are only little but I'm sure there must be more around where this child was. These would do some damage if they hit your head or eye I would imagine!
