Yes, well that one seems to work but the Canterbury one doesn't.Orion wrote:Bay of Plenty rain-radar has a 120km option...
It would of been nice to see the area of drizzle patches over the province today.

I've often wondered that - some forecasts with spelling mistakes, (I thought professionals would check before posting), can last through until the late evening update!NZ Thunderstorm Soc wrote: Also, why to 'updated' forecasts have the same wording as in previous forecasts?
Must be laziness on their behalf?

Re: MetService Website (2015)
I notice now that when the Canterbury Radar is down (like now), the light grey low res radar circle does not turn black like it used to or else Westland's Radar is shown to cover Canterbury.
This makes it hard to tell at a glance when the Radars down and could be misleading

Yea I noticed that too. They should have the light grey only where the radars actually scan to.

Bring on the Otago Radar, when the one at Rakaia fails.
If I had a few million dollars to spare, I could fund a Doppler sitting high on the Otago Peninsula

Re: MetService Website (2015)
Can anyone tell me why my site on MS's your weather only shows rainfall in the last hour as rainfall in the last 5 mins for me, when all other sites are in the last hour?
Ive noticed this morning that mine is not getting higher than 0.2 - 2mm /hr rainfall while many other sites (like the MS one) have been showing 10+mm /hr. Ive had similar rainfall to the other sites and similar hourly totals. So why the difference?

Can you only access Culverden's live readings via Your Weather ? Seems they might as well combine it with the high country Culverden page or are the readings only sporadic?

Re: MetService Website (2015)
I'm sure a recent Rain Radar capture would be fascinating if I could see it, unfortunately the sequences only run to around 8:51pm - for the whole of NZ ... (It is raining here at the moment)...

At 11:10pm, the most recent Radar image was 10:37pm as a thunderstorm crosses the area

No. In fact the last-8-hour (on the hour images) can be more up-to-date than the 7.5 minute images. Yet Weatherzone's images are relatively up-to-date.Manukau heads obs wrote:is anyone able to get an up to date M/S rain radar image?

Can anyone tell me why in "Your weather" the local weather stations i.e. the non Met service ones why the names of these stations have all disappeared NZ wide?

Re: MetService Website (2015)
This was something that came up in discussion. Unfortunately their system currently does not have any form of spell checker. They can often be quite busy and that's when the spelling errors slip through the cracks.Flutterbye wrote:I've often wondered that - some forecasts with spelling mistakes, (I thought professionals would check before posting), can last through until the late evening update!

Wow! 243 km/h gusts in Masterton yesterday! Yeah Right.
25.4C at Port Taharoa looks a bit suspicious as well?

Re: MetService Website (2015)
I wish MS would suspend those absurd Port Taharoa temp-readings until someone fixes the site, as it robs some poor town/city of being 5th on the previous day's highest temps list.

Re: MetService Website (2015)
in a SE wind flow like we have at the moment, there is alot of land up wind of that site to warm the air up on a sunny day like today, so it will be indicative for that location
