Slightly cooler here in February with only one day exceeding 30C ( 1st ) as compared to 4 days last month.
Overnight minimums down too with a minimum of 2.2c recorded on the 9th.
a total of 19.5mm of rain for the month, with 9mm of it falling in the early hours of the 22nd.

So it looks like there were at least 7 waterpouts spotted around Tauranga Harbour between 6:30pm and 8:30pm on Thursday evening, with at least one making landfall.Nev wrote:Bit more info on Thursday evening's spouts…

Here's NIWA's preliminary, 'February 2015 National Climate Summary'.
A dry month in the east of both Islands and widespread dry soils.
The national average temp of 17.0C was 0.2C below normal.
The month's highest temp of 33.5C was recorded at Waiau (North Canterbury) on the 1st, and the lowest of -1.5C was recorded at Ranfurly on the 26th.
