Re: General March Weather
Nice one there Steven.
Hope you were wearing your NZTS T-shirt
Interesting looking rain-shaft. My wife said that she was driving down Weedons Ross Road and it was absolutely pouring down but just up the road and here there was nothing well a few large rain-drops.

Watching the video it was interesting to see that the stepped leaders seemed to originate near the top of that rain-shaft.

Re: General March Weather
I got the feeling that rain shaft passed over my area (halswell) or our gutters are completely blocked. Flooded right across the road

Re: General March Weather
Elongated day of drizzly rain here today which is the most prolonged amount of substantial precipitation that we have had for ages. well so far this year. Good for grass regrowth.

Re: General March Weather
Well summer has been and gone round here but still very dry tho but more so Rangiora north with areas around Waipara, Waikari, Hawarden being just dirt.
Have delivered around 30 tonne of sheep pellets to farmers up that way in the last few weeks and 10 tonne to one farmer alone.
They say now its getting cold that grass growth will stop anyway, thing could get very tight this winter.

Nice day for Auckland today 23C.
An upper trough will be parked to our west tomorrow with the precip offshore. Very little precip making it to Auckland this week.

Re: General March Weather
Yeah, looks like we have reverted back to a dry pattern again since Cyclone Pam gave 40mm a week ago. Also shaping up to be quite a warm month, avg min is around 16C so far.NZstorm wrote:Nice day for Auckland today 23C.
