Dropped to -1C here just before midnight but low cloud stopped it getting colder.

Temperature dropped away to minus 0.9C overnight before the NW returned and rose the temperature back up to 11.6C at 7:30am.

Had the NW all night Thurs/Fri night,not so last night with -4.5deg just on sunrise.

Going to be a hard frost tonight as there was ice forming at 4.30pm

cloud came over during the night so it didn't go below -1deg

1.6°C here at about 7.30am and one of the better frosts I've seen in a while. Looking like it's going to be a nice day.

Yea last night was nothing, we have had frosts that go down to -6 or -7 at times.

Ground temperatures yes. However been a long time since either the Hamilton airport or Ruakura air temperature has hit -4. About -3.8 is lowest I remember. -5's and ocassionly a -6 did happen up untill the mid 80's, but nothing since then.

June 2009 I got close to -6 and had a bunch of -5's in a row. My parents pool froze over for a number of days!
