A -1.1deg frost here this morning, thankfully covered the spuds and tomatoes

This is the one thing that ive noticed thats changed over the years, when i worked in my area 30 years ago and i lived in Rangiora at the time, i would leave Rangiora with little or no frost and get to the Amuri area where it would be a moderate to heavy frost. But these days there seems little difference between in the spring frosts.

Well, anyway a frost here this morning, still visible in shaded areas around 8am this morning.
Down to minus 0.7C. 1.1C @ 8am.

Already -2.1C here and -1.8C in chch, very cold for end of first week in November.

-3C at Christchurch Airport this morning could well be a record November min. Records date back to 1953.

Yep, MS says -2.8C at Chch Aero this morn, which beats its previous Nov record of -2.6C set in 2008 since records began in 1953.

I see thats now -3.4deg, now that is smashing the old record

Wow 2 all-time low monthly records in one year, looks like 2015 will be the only month alongside 1980 (July and August) to hold that distinction for Christchurch

The only thing that i had hit by the frost was some tomatoes that had woolen covers over, thankfully only slightly.

Will need to cover again tonight again as well

Light frost here this morning, down to minus 0.7C.
Some of the pumpkins seedlings frost damaged.
