Re: General August Weather
Few convergence showers in Auckland this afternoon. Moderate rain at the moment in Parnell and it feels really cold outside! Would guess around 8 degrees

Re: General August Weather
Funnel cloud observed just to the south of here in Mairangi bay, filmed it and took some pics too. Crappy quality but will upload later when Im home from work...it looked to have dissipated as of ten mins ago, but it may return as conditions are favourable.

A friend reported CG strike in a Glen Eden park around 5.45pm. Wonder if that's the one?

Yeah, they were weird. It hit the windscreen with a distinct heavy splat, and on the road looked like they hit and left a smear of ice rather than bouncing like regular hail.SnwAddct wrote:Is it possible we just had graupel through here in west auckland? soft snow looking pellets like I've never seen before..

EC hinting at around 50mm for Mid Canterbury with a snow level of around 500m for this Saturday/Sunday - another good top up for the ski fields if it comes off
