Not that far out into the country (only have 49cc bike), but could make it to Hornby or Church Corner.

And big thanks to our host Aaron, of course. ;)

I cannot, for the life of me, find the link of the conference with slow motion lightning I was talking about last night (pretty sure it was Tim Samaras, and either 10 000fps or 50 000fps with his Phantom), but found this one from Tom Warner which shows the same things though at different speeds and resolutions. Check "Above the Clouds" for positive CG charges build up, and an amazing positive upward leader forming from a tower and connecting with a downward negative one from the cloud ("Negative Lightning Hits Tower").

Slightly out of topic, but sometimes storm chasers do stop to enjoy the natural beauty of their surroundings. In this case Steve (in the bottom right corner) was curious to try his 6D on Milky Way nightscapes, and despite the weather conditions we gave it a shot after leaving Aaron's place.

Really good catch up. I will be happy to host next time we have one!

Be good if a few more people come along considering the presence that Canterbury has on the forum :)

Thanks for the photos, Ben,
The inside one was good because I was able to show my wife the good job that Aaron did on those windows. 8-o
Anyway, good day had by all and it was interesting to see, even though she was a wee bit shy (and feeling a bit cold), an outsider, ie. not a forum member, come along as well.
No , Brian, no morris dancing was done, Bob Crowder couldn't make it although the other morris dancer that was there, did bring along some awful homemade beef sausages that Aaron cooked up on his barbeque.
Anyway, next rural meet
Richard's ? <3
