The Waikato looks rainy tomorrow but I am hoping we can get enough sun Auckland northward for some convection.

Well so far nothing has happened apart from that brief storm yesterday. A little bit of rain every now and then but otherwise it's been purdy boring

I would have thought 'snow alley' would have been copping it by now!
Radar showing precip building quite nicely from the SE north of the Rangitata now.

Very poor forecasting all round Richard, clear and calm -4 here at lake benmore and starry all night. Forecast just to generic to be of any help for inland areas and the one who does forecast's for inland Canterbury is embarrassing when it comes to accuracy( not tony).

Convergence line is through here now and I have had 30mm this morning.

Will be interesting to see what can develop this afternoon due to heating enhancement. The midnight gfs has some instability back in the Waikato with that area looking good for some pulse cells this afternoon heading westward out to sea. Hoping that something will develop over the Auckland area again.

Looks like the snowline in mid-Canterbury is a few hundred metres higher the what the Metservice forecast too. Unusual they were going for some snow down to 200m when all the data just before the event was saying 400-500m

For mid-Canterbury they were 200-300m out, not one flake from my spy at 420m asl and they said none even up to 500m asl...

Just got hit hard in Leamington and Cambridge. Largest hail I've seen here. First time I've worried it might be damaging the car.

Getting hammered again. Hail and torrential rain. Going to cause some issues soon if this line does not move a little North or South.
