General November Weather
Well, it should be a nice day to start off November's weather.
I wonder what sort of weather El Niña>? will bring us this month as it's been not very interesting, so far

Re: General November Weather
Models have really ramped up the moisture levels for Canterbury tomorrow and early Wednesday, should be a decent warm advective event by the looks of it. Latest from Metservice:
CANTERBURY: Snow is likely above 400 metres from mid-afternoon Tuesday until late Wednesday morning. During this time, 10 to 15cm of snow may accumulate above 600 metres. There is a chance that the snow level could drop as low as 200 metres about the inland Canterbury Plains early Wednesday morning.

Re: General November Weather
Good precip for the whole country at least.
Looks like a low thunder risk for the upper North Island with the overnight front. Also a low risk over Taupo/BOP tomorrow afternoon if there can be any surface heating.
Australia getting all the CAPE as usual and there was a tornado in Victoria on Sunday.

Re: General November Weather
Unless Metservice took the Hokitika Gorge rainfall figure mid afternoon from the Regional Council website currently sitting on 103.6mm for 24 hours, I don't where the 69mm figure came from , Certainly not Hokitika airport .I had only 7.6mm at Runanga by 5pm tonight out of the front mostly heavy drizzle and light rain

Re: General November Weather
Looking potentially dry next 10 days for Auckland.
Coolish 17C today but warmer temps are inbound. November can give a good temperature lift.

Re: General November Weather
If it keeps going the way it is with no storms and little rain, we might be joining the drizzle appreciation club .
A total of about 14mm in 8 days all of which im sure will be gone in a week, the pattern is abit stuck at the moment very ridged with slow moving fronts.
El Nino is unpredictable though, December January could be very unstable months

Re: General November Weather
Looking like dps 17C for Auckland tomorrow but only good for drizzle given warm upper air.
As for the trough over the South Island today, upper levels too warm, pointing to minimal lightning risk. Perhaps an isolated storm over south to mid Canterbury later in the day but risk looks low.
