Bit wet in Rangiora today with 12mm this arvo and still thick rain.

A bit wet this afternoon.
Amazing how it was 35C yesterday around 4pm and today just 9C at the same time.
Yesterday, I was near naked and today walking around the place with jerseys, coats and hats on, with thinking about lighting the fire?

Yeah I've just put the fire on, 9C to cold for my house with no heating.
25C colder now than this Time yesterday.
Heavy rain in the last 30mins so now up to 18mm

funny old day in ChCh yesterday. I spend the day near the airport where 10mm fell over the afternoon, quite steady at times. Yet at home just 9km away we only got 2.5mm

is there a small upper trough overhead today or something? i see a slight convergence out there and it looks a tad unstable.. like there could be a heavy shower

Some high rainfalls being reported north of Auckland (150mm+). Any spied up that way?

Up around Omaha which is about 1 hour north of Auckland city. I see a private weather station there recorded 80mm in 2hrs from 1pm.
Convergence with very moist air mass (dps 17C today). CB's were low topped efficient rain makers, no lightning today though.
We had some heavyish rain in Auckland city this afternoon with 15mm.

Just 7mm in Howick today, rather disappointing. At least it should be fairly nice tomorrow I guess

Looking ahead to next week, Wednesday maybe a chance of inland storms with a weak trough passing over the country, but, early days yet, just hope the models dont ease back like it has done a lot lately.

Stunning day in the MacKenzie with around 26C in the camp but a surprisingly breezy SE wind had stopped most water sports.

Looking like a mini blocking pattern for the remainder of the month and NZ ends up on a favourable side of the block for warm sunny weather.

Some moist air over the upper North Island from the 30th could generate some convection if surface convergence gets strong enough. The easterly modelled to develop over Northland later next week can't be good news for campers.

None of the forecast morning cloud around and getting close to 20C before 9:30am. Going to be hot today if nothing changes.
