Brian the radar looks impressive as it rolled over your place.
Heaps of heavy rain and thunder here today. My home hasn't caught half the rain we have had at the airport.

Pretty sure I just heard thunder here in Glenfield. On my way out to the accountant shortly, so I'll be keeping my eyes open for action.

Nice photos there Brian. The cb generated quite a bit of lightning over South Auckland (largely IC i think) before it weakened and moved away to the east.

Yes great photos Brian.
A small amount of lightning, some very heavy showers and small hail is all we encountered in the northern Manawatu.

I see Tim had 33mm today and I had 15mm. Not sure what the airport got but it would have been 30mm at least. I was at mystery creek right next door and it was a flood.

MS have 15.4mm for Hamilton Aero today.
And 10.4mm for Akld Aero... compared to a fairly uneventful 2.0mm here.

We had the front hit here in south taranaki at 8am frontal system provided horizontal downpours and lots of bangs and flashes, and then throughout the day have had countless storms roll in constantly since the first front with Sun in between.

Wow that goes to show that the difference between there and mystery creek where I was was quite significant. We had rivers of water where the drains couldn't keep up. I would have expected 15mm in a 20mins fell and another 15mm in the half hour after that. It truly was torrential rain. I would think that is more like what Tim got.Nev wrote:MS have 15.4mm for Hamilton
