Re: General August Weather
Not a bad day in Auckland now with Grey Lynn 16C.
Potentially thundery for Auckland Northland early next week! Very cold upper air and surface low in vicinity.
Hope it will verify.

Re: General August Weather
I think the pattern this August could well produce one or two more snow events during the month, northern moisture meeting cold air from the south.

Re: General August Weather
Colder here than I was expecting this morning, Grey Lynn went down to 2.9C.
Looks like the east coast of Northland is in the firing line for some heavy showers/ hail next few days in an unstable easterly.

General August Weather
Already reached our low of -1 tonight. I wonder why MS only went for -1 when we have got there with 8 hours to spare. Maybe wind or cloud is expected?

Re: General August Weather
It will be nice to get back to average temperatures.
Looking unstable over the warm sea around the top of Northland with thunderstorms developing there now.

Re: General August Weather
Unusually Low dew point temperatures ( 5-11C) over northern NZ with this heavy rain event, but the upper atmosphere is unusually cold.
