South Auckland, Bombay is the perfect place to be atm. To much cloudy stuff with that trough over the central Waikato to the CNI which is hampering heating.

First CB has formed in South Auckland, but hasnt sparked...... yet

A few further storms down south in southern Taranaki.

2.43pm, this area seems to be a hot spot on these convective systems, seen a few unexpected storms form here.

Some Cbs have been forming over southern Auckland with an isolated thunderstorm there in the last hr, towering cumulus line in the far west.
A dry bright day here.

MetService have a moderate risk for eastern inland areas of the SI and much of western inland areas of the NI today.

The low cloud that was about first thing is clearing away which is helping to create the warmth needed

Almost 9mm recorded in Howick this afternoon from showers. Not much at all further west in Parnell so far, maybe 0.5mm

seen those towers coming home from work from the city.. some nice structure alright! serferics heard on the am radio frequency,sounds very ightning active..looks like oxford way?
unfortunately i cant really head out, as im having a bbq for my partners 30th tonight, still good signs for spring. there will be better set ups though.

One of the most active lightning storms is passing just to me west and has pasted over Hawarden, would have to have been at least 50-60 strikes, seen some great CG strikes \:D/

Just talking to a woman in Hawarden she said she tipped 30mm in 7 minutes along with large hail, she's videoed it and is going to load to facebook, i'll see if i can get it onto here

The shower showing on the radar with the arrow pointing doesn't exist, thats right over the top of here yet it bright sunshine. Strange :-k
