I admit to cross posting from here .. http://forum.blitzortung.org/showthread.php?tid=2022 but think/suspect longrun steel roofs are a kiwi/Australasian thing and not prevalent in Europe/USA where most sites are based ?
so ....
Considering putting my H field ferrites in the loft space.
In NZ nearly all houses have (longrun) steel roofs, rather than clay/cement tiles.
Am I wasting my time putting it in the loft only a few meters from several hundred m2 of steel ?
thanks

I have one mounted in the ceiling of my garage with pretty good results although it's behind the fibre board cladding on the gable end so not completely blocked by steel roofing.
