Interesting.

When I was doing some research on the 1948 Frankton tornado, the newspaper story said that earthquakes were predictable but tornadoes were not. So there was some loopy ideas around back then.

so much labour intensive work though
and by the time that was all done the situation would be out of date for a fast moving system :)

great find. When I started there in '75 we still used ink pens to plot maps and sent data out on ww2 vintage teleprinters, so a lot of that was familiar
