-1.3deg. at my place at the moment: lawns white.

Sky clear and the stars were brilliant a couple of hours ago. :D

Good frost here this morning with frost still hanging around in sheltered places away from the sun.
Down to minus 4.6C, coldest morning sofa this year.

Seems like you get heavier frosts there than at your last place John, not a lot different to here yet you are close to the sea.

The frosts here more heavier, might be because of the soil, compared to my West Melton recordings,but Raukapuka seems to have it's local micro-climate, compared to other parts of Geraldine, I dunno.

wonder why? cant see soil type being the cause, close to the hills maybe?

I see Mt Cook village is currently on -9.6 deg, what will it get to by morning? Reminded me of the winter of 2013 here, the following night after we had a -15deg frost it was -7deg at 7.00, it was dropping one deg every hour, 10.00pm it was -10, it thought if this keeps up it might reach -18 by sunup, but the NW wind came through and went from -10deg to +7 in about 1/2 hour.

A tad 'milder' this morning with it getting down to minus 1.9C this morning.

A good frost this morning with traces around to midday. Down to minus 2.8C.

Good frost overnight here down to minus 3.9C before it clouded up from the north.

Dipped to a low of -2.7deg, wont be a frost tonight, NW wind is close to coming through.
