Can't remember a more boring period of weather for Canterbury then the last 5 or so days and the next 7 forecast. Just nothing interesting at all. Bring on Autumn!!!

Yes, not looking very interesting, this summer becoming like last summer.
The late westerlies brought us nothing much and now boring anticyclones starting to move in.
No wonder I'm moving to Geraldine? :-w

I'm sure Geraldine get boring anticyclones too John, personally i love them this time of year, just not in winter.

Southerly wind arrived at 3.00pm dropping the temps from a high of 28.4

Enough already. After months of garbage in these parts I want a very long period of anticyclonic anomalies.

I was being sarcastic there, if that's the right word?
Down there today. Nice and warm and the cloudy southerly change was quite refreshing.
Did some work around the place.
Hope to start weather readings from down there about May.

[-X re "uninteresting" weather: those whose safety, livelihoods, comfort, depend upon spells of settled benign weather will be appreciative anyway.

A little light drizzle falling here at present.

Seeing a strike every 3 seconds or so. Nice visible bolts from way up the top of the cloud.

So 0mm forecast in the next 10 days is going to be "appreciated" by those poor farmers in Canterbury already struggling with lack of rain? I would have thought good rain would be good for a number of different facets of society including firefighters!

Sorry to hear that some are struggling; still, good weather for harvest, hey ;) and for aviation, shipping and mariners, construction, travel, tourism, etc.

Clear and sunny morning here, no wind to speak of.
