Bermuda Climate
Bermuda seems to have a very warm climate given its latitude ( 32.3 north) and being a group of very small Islands out in the Atlantic

Re: Bermuda Climate
The gulf stream certainly provides a lot of heat then
I read somewhere that the warm east Australian current has brought to nd much warmer climate in the past.....I.E it exit east much further south

Re: Bermuda Climate
Yes the gulf stream will play a big part. Also I am guessing Bermuda will get a lot of humid southerly wind flows as normal weather pattern.

Re: Bermuda Climate
My grandparents (Mothers side) lived there for a couple of years in the 1970's and liked the climate, although they did say it could be very humid in late summer. Great link about the Bermudan climate and plenty of information on the hurricanes that have visited the island:

Re: Bermuda Climate
Bermuda is within the natural growing range of the coconut palm which certainly means tropical climate.
The furthest south the coconut grows in Australia is Rockhampton which is latitude 23 deg.

And in New Zealand at latitude 29.27 degrees south! (Raoul Island) From: http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php ... m-equator/NZstorm wrote:Bermuda is within the natural growing range of the coconut palm which certainly means tropical climate.

The above palm is said to be gone now.

Re: Bermuda Climate
I have heard of palm enthusiast trying to cultivate a coconut palm in Northland but of coarse it dd not survive.
Rockhampton is the southerly extent of the natural range in Aussie but I suspect you could cultivate them in a very sheltered spot on the Gold Coast. And I was wrong about coconut palms in Bermuda, they are not endemic, they were introduced by settlers.
