That's following a strong cold front on the 4th, going by the BOM output. Haven't looked at other models for that day yet.

Yes, sadly some intense anticyclones coming our way, making for uninteresting weather and copious amounts of fine settled weather in places that don't need it. :-w , especially at this time of year.

Three days of continual west to nw winds has meant warmer nights but drys the countryside though, could do with some rain soon hopefully.

Well the media have been telling us that we have had too much rain so far this year and a dry break will be most welcome. Well I hope it is in places that have received allot of rain so far.
I see that Te Puke has had more rain than Westport so far this year. <3

Sounds like the southerly wind change is bustling through here right now.

Yes gone through here.
Nothing much but I see some drizzle around the foothills and some heavy isolated showers around the Motokurara area?

Really???? rain-sodden Wellington in particular, plus many other spots, could do with several months of stable conditions. The past 12-13 months here are easily the worst I have experienced and the numbers back that up. I want anticyclonic conditions for months now, not "interesting" ones. Nothing interesting about an endless succession of Tasman lows.

....or anticyclones Rupert.
It's nice to get fine sunny days, like we have been experiencing here lately in Geraldine lately, despite surface barometric pressures being low, makes up for the deluge we got in July. I know that parts of the country have been experiencing weather that you and other people don't like, but being a thunderstorm enthusiast when interesting weather happens elsewhere it can be frustrating for a person, like me, who is interested in that sort of thing, not occurring near of close to their locality.

Looks like rain for Auckland Saturday night/early Sunday, a couple of showers Sunday with our weather a little humid on Sunday.

Here is my 2 cents worth on the current Tasman set up. A lovely 30 to 40mm Precip water running down the atmospheric river around the frontal trough at the moment.

Yes some more rain will be very welcome around here, maybe not so in other areas though. An extra top up of rain will mean one of the best spring set ups for many years, Oct is one of the best months to get 30+mm

Looking like the place to be this weekend for weather is Southland. Lumsden could top 20C and sunny skies.

As we are already at 1409 mm for the year, I would quite like a couple of dry months. Not something I normally would say, but there's only so much rain I can take :-)

Some moist air( dps around 15C ) and brighter spells ( heating) tomorrow afternoon should help pep the showers up around Auckland, South Auckland probably more in line for some heavy showers.
