Can see a fan-shaped explosive-looking cloud to the north of here, and various other bubbly ones to west and south; however some seem to subside after a little while
Hot day, around 28deg. here also.

Is the easterly too strong today. ie is it keeping the westerly sea breeze at bay. No sign of anything yet.

Just come back from a thunderstorm over Mt. Peel. Pictures later.
Lots of internal cloud to cloud lightning.
Can here the thunder from here and in the Geraldine township.

Well if a storm dont come to me, i'll go to you, so i drove 5 kms west to meet the storm in the photo, found the heavy rain shaft, stopped and hopped outa the car then smacked the scab off a can of beer, as soon as i had the first sip a big clap of thunder rolled over head, life doesn't get better than that.

....sorry about this, Richard but I think I have "Stolen your Thunder"
Good storm down here, well Mt. Peel of which MS had a SThWarning.
Lots of continuious thunder but no lightning seen but you could hear it in the cloud.
I see on the WTWarning they had it heading towards here but as their is a Santas Parade in town this evening, the storm reverted and went back up the Rangitata Gorge and weakoned.
Nice imagary on the rain radar of the storm.
