There is a lot of moist air heading NZs way, expect a lot of cloud and showers over NZ during the next week.

A wet February, with a total rainfall of 230mm recorded in Howick. Mean temperature of 20.6C, which makes it 1.3C cooler than January.

A generally very wet and fairly cloudy Feb for most, but still quite warm in central and northern NZ.
Some very preliminary February 2018 figures for the main centres:

Other notable rainfalls include 302mm at Kerikeri Aero and 713 at Milford Sound Aero. A couple Tasman District high country sites also included 644mm in Takaka (760m) and 908mm at Anatoki (1300m).

Kelburn missed out fairly narrowly on its warmest summer - the 90-day Tmean was about 0.06C lower than for 1934-35.
