I see Gisborne on 29C with a dp of 23C. And even Taupo airport has had a dp of 23C today. Very muggy!

Auckland has been stuck under a low grey overcast for 3 days now. I have 74mm for the event.

Some really heavy rain headed for Coromandel. Getting a heavy burst here currently but looks to be clearing soon.

Been a sticky humid day in Wellington today. Especially once the northerly kicked in. I cleaned the fish tank and refilled it, and since then the outside of the tank has been dripping with condensation.

No it wasn’t anything spectacular. Had much much heavier for much longer. Was about 10mins and just over 10mm. About 13mm in 10 mins.

Everyone around Hamilton is commenting on how damp carpet, bedsheets, flooring, clothing etc is today and yesterday. Washing that was hung out yesterday still isn’t dry in our hose. Our bed even feels weirdly wet.

Looks to be coming to pass, albeit a day late

Well they obviously don't trust their own model as the watches are now lifted for Auckland/Waikato...

Yes, didn't read it correctly. Should have said watches lifted for Auckland/Coromandel, both areas where their 3 day model shows some quite large accumulations.

Currently 24.6c, 23.3c DP and full sun. Grass growing rate is 5mm per hour

4000 km elongated trough is linking up with TC Gita and receiving an atmospheric river running around 50mm to 60mm, moving slowly moving westward towards central and upper North Island tonight. This could be the mother of all convergence zones if it lines up tomorrow. Some models think big, some not so big……. As razor mentioned, MS is now talking it up and their modelling is juicy. Where ever that trough stalls, it's going to be a narrow tropical water slide on the east side of it.

When the trough linkage to TC Gita is disconnected late tomorrow night, Gita will become a wild independent Cat 5.

That's crazy! I remember the DP spiking to over 24C when I had the weather station - but it was only a short time when it was above 24C.

People will be feeling it I guess - not many places have AC.

Similar on my station. Today's max dewpoint is 23.5C, my station record is 23.7C back in 2011

Just keeps getting hotter. 28.2/23.1. I think today is the most uncomfortable heat we have had all summer. Two degrees warmer but the DP 2 degrees lower didn’t feel as uncomfortable as this.

Currently a 23.9c DP here. Record for me.

Atmospheric river running hard now from the tropics, with the flow shifting west. It's going to go big where ever that squeeze zone ends up. http://tropic.ssec.wisc.edu/real-time/m ... anim=html5

Cicadas are going nuts again, somethings brewing

My station broke it's all time high dewpoint record by 0.1C. It got as high as 23.8C before dropping back a little bit.

Do tend to get a few cicadas here in summer but none heard this summer for some reason.
