Re: Frosts 2018
Cleared up overnight and there was a slight frost here this morning with it dipping down to minus 0.4C.
It went off early as the 'clagg' rolled in.

Re: Frosts 2018
Various tweets from NIWA and MetService gave the following minimums for the morning of Wednesday 30th May in the Auckland area:
0.7*C at Ardmore Airport
0.9*C at Motat
1.0*C at Whangarei (tied 4th coldest May temperature)
1.5*C at Mangere
1.9*C at North Shore
The only thing I could find for Motat was the Museum of Transport + Technology in central Auckland?
Other minumums for this area were given as -1.8*C at Hamilton, 0.2*C at Whenaupai and +2.0*C at Kerikeri.
On the SI, Ranfurly is quoted at -6.6*C and Mt Cook Airport at -6.8*C. Some low maximum temperatures for the 30th are also provided for the SI, with a record low for May reported at Middlemarch

Re: Frosts 2018
Thanks Simon. However, Whangarei, Kerikeri and Hamilton are not part of the Auckland area. Auckland Aero got down to 4.1C btw. And yes, you're correct about NIWA's Motat site, which is only about 2 years old.

Cloud developed form about 9.00pm and cleared about 4.00, so it dropped to 0.0 deg at 8.20pm, warmed to 3.1 at 2.00am and now -0.1
