Re: General June Weather
Looking like max temps of 17C to 18C next 5 days for Auckland. Weather cooling off again next week with a cold rainy low in the north.

Re: General June Weather
Enjoying the warmer weather, currently 16-17C across Auckland.
Looks like next weeks northern low will be on the move, probably a day of wet weather there.

Front due across the west of the North Island Saturday evening has good lightning potential with it. Something to keep an eye on.

Re: General June Weather
That low EC is bringing down mid next week could be fairly deep. Some decent rainfall accumulation showing up as well.

18C and partly sunny for Auckland today. Quite a pleasant winters day.
The sunshine anomaly for the month so far is interesting.

Yea Tony certainly has nailed it so far. For here he said cloudy warm and wet.
I’m praying we GFS is the more accurate over EC for next week. I really don’t want more rain. I need a week of frosts!

Re: General June Weather
Just 18 hours here for the first 13 days, but I doubt if the record low of 61 for the month will be beaten. Dreadful run though. I'm keeping an eye on the running total starting 10 May, possibility of a record low for 6-week or 7-week span if this garbage continues for much longer.

Lake Heron station, some of the hardest shearing wethers in the south Island, always done in Feb where sweating out a hot day meant a swim in that lake at the end of the day, memories form years back.

Re: General June Weather
I'm beginning to dislike the SSW a little, such a grey and wet month! I feel for those affected by flooding up north or cut off again in Kaikoura, and do hope the next deep low doesn't come off next week.

A wee tease from the sun about half an hour ago. The cloud can do one! Not too sure it will though

Pretty intense cell showing up at the edge of the Auckland radar coverage zone at the moment!

Re: General June Weather
Given the good speed shear I think an isolated supercell possible/large hail.

Positively had the sun shining in here an hour or so ago, for a little while.
Now mist thickening and very dark.

Yes, the fog rolled in this evening and became quite thick for a while. Light southerly.

Re: General June Weather
There was a good thunderstorm go across S/SW Auckland yesterday evening, I could see the distant sheet lightning and some very distant thunder from Howick around 8.30 - 9pm.

Re: General June Weather
Caught this photo of a very close lightning strike at Pukekohe last night , the strike was perhaps only 200m away or less, photo is bleached out unfortunately.
It was good lightning show over South Auckland last night, intense rain and gusty winds observed also
